The Development Director is responsible for assisting the Executive Director in fundraising, planning, directing and implementing operations and programming activities in support of the mission of the MSD Biscayne Nature Center. The Development Director will be responsible for implementing, overseeing, and assessing the organization’s fundraising and outreach strategies and programs.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement annual fundraising strategies

  • Develop short and long-term development goals

  • Cultivate and manage donors and sponsors

  • Oversee grants, donor databases, and sponsorships

  • Represent the Center at community and networking events

  • Support program development and supervise contractors

  • Collaborate with staff on mission-driven initiatives

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in nonprofit fundraising or similar roles

  • Proven success in fundraising and grant writing

  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills

  • Ability to work independently and creatively

  • Experience in environmental or arts-related fields a plus

  • Bilingual (Spanish/French/Creole) a plus

Compensation:
$52,000–$75,000/year (based on experience) + potential bonuses.
Full-time, 5 days/week onsite at the Nature Center.
